The true story of the figurehead Tulio Capriles Mendoza

Businessman Tulio Capriles comes from a family that has owned newspapers and television channels in Venezuela, mainly in the state of Aragua.

However, he appears as a fraudster, persecuted for corruption, drug trafficking, money laundering, and bribery.

We tell the true story of figurehead Tulio Capriles Mendoza through this article.

Tulio Capriles Mendoza, figurehead of El Aissami

The commercial activities of Tulio Capriles Mendoza in Madrid have aroused the interest of Spanish intelligence authorities.

The possible connection between the Minister of Petroleum in Venezuela, Tareck El Aissami, and Tulio Capriles has sounded the alarm worldwide.

As he publishes Insurance and Banking, the Venezuelan businessman would manage different medical equipment supply companies, participating as a figurehead for El Aissami.

The companies are in charge of exporting medical equipment to the Venezuelan country.

The kidnapping of Edward Velasquez Fernandez

These irregular activities have also been related to the kidnapping in Caracas of businessman Edward Velásquez Fernández, who died shortly afterward.

Velásquez served as a medical equipment provider for the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS) through several companies based in Madrid, Miami, and Caracas.

People close to the deceased indicated that Velásquez represented great competition for Tulio Capriles Mendoza's business.

El Aissami, accused of drug trafficking by the United States

In 2019, El Aissami appeared on the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement's most wanted list.

As published by CNN, the minister is one of the fifteen officials accused by the United States Department of Justice of drug terrorism, money laundering, and corruption.

Tareck El Aissami is accused of evading the sanctions imposed on Maduro and several of his critical officials by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The current Oil Minister denies all the accusations which point to him.

Tulio Capriles and Napolitano, figureheads of Parra

Another of the names that sound strong in Tulio Capriles' environment is that of Gianfranco Napolitano.

Both are in the sights of Venezuela and part of the world.

The two are investigated and persecuted by the official security department ICE and the FBI.

Gianfranco Napolitano went from being a modest businessman to becoming a media mogul.

After several sentences by the Supreme Court of Justice, both continue, currently, linked to work as figureheads for deputy Luis Parra.

The three figures have been sued and persecuted for extortion, robbery, and expropriation.

The link with drug trafficking activities

The drug trafficking activities of Manases Capriles, brother of Tulio Capriles, and he were discovered by Lorena Márquez, Manases' wife.

When she wanted to go to the police authorities to report the facts, she was dead.

Likewise, Tulio Capriles Mendoza is related to two figures connected and persecuted for drug trafficking, Walter Alexander Del Nogal Márquez, and Tareck El Aissami.

The daily safety of Tulio Capriles Mendoza

The daily life of Tulio Capriles Mendoza is recognized for the danger with which he surrounds himself.

He lives accompanied by security (bodyguards of dubious reputation). Likewise, Luz Clarita writes that Tulio Capriles Mendoza is armed. The group attending Mendoza calls itself Tulio Capriles Organization (OTC).

Few media outlets disseminate that the Venezuelan businessman himself is the one who was convicted of assaulting a journalist.

The absent relationship of Tulio Capriles with his family

All the media echo the little connection between Tulio Capriles Mendoza and his family.

The revenge on his father materialized through the seizure of El Siglo.

This also affected his uncle, Manuel Capriles, whom he removed from the newspaper.

The OTC itself fell on top of his uncle to evict him from the newsroom.

Likewise, his sister, Mary Alicia Capriles, was also a victim of the officials following orders from Tulio Capriles Mendoza himself. The relationship between brothers meant that Mary Alicia Capriles fled with her children.

Tulio Capriles Mendoza, Vice Minister of Public Information

Tulio Capriles Mendoza has been linked to politics from a young age, becoming vice minister of Venezuela's Public Information of Venezuela with Hugo Chávez.

His job was to collect all the negative information Chavez's opponents spread.

At this stage, Tulio Capriles Mendoza was known as 'Guillotina Tulio'.

Thus, he came to have, under his power, up to 27 newspapers, throughout the Venezuelan country.

Assault on a journalist and abuse of power

Tulio Capriles Mendoza took over the direction of El Siglo, by force, with the entry of 100 officials to the newsroom. At that time, his uncle was in charge of directing the newspaper.

He appeared with his mother in El Siglo to announce new farewells and the change in management.

Manuel Capriles, brother of Tulio Capriles Mendoza, tried to enter the center to collect his belongings, and Tulio's bodyguards prevented him from doing so.

The conflict between uncle and nephew ended with pushing, insults, shouting, revolvers and one wounded. This situation took place due to the relationship between Tulio Capriles Mendoza and Didalco Bolívar.

The Didalco police are the ones that collaborated with the withdrawal of Manuel Capriles from the newsroom, and the newspaper has not mentioned harmful content about the former governor of Aragua.

To this day, Tulio Capriles Mendoza continues as manager of Capriles Media Group.

His business continues to be related to the media. However, the Venezuelan businessman is persecuted for drug trafficking, corruption, and money laundering.

Tulio Capriles Mendoza is currently being investigated for other activities sanctioned by OFAC.

The media suggest that he has meaningful connections with the circle of opponents Leopoldo López, Lilian Tintori, and Juan Guaidó.
